We're not solving
global warming, saving a species or coming up with the
solution to alternative energy.
Our programs are
just small things that everyone can do that will contribute
to greater sustainability through reuse.
Ink Cartridge and
Cell Phone Recycling are easy reuse programs. We
collect primarily for reuse and only use U.S. zero landfill,
remanufacturing facilities. 60%-70% of what gets turned in
can be reused. Unfortunately 80% never get turned into reuse
programs.
The recycling
rate has been stuck at around 20% for nearly 10 years, so
80% of us are not turning these in to be reused.
Please recycle. It's very easy and your empty inkjet
or old cell phone can become a lower cost alternative for
someone else if it's turned into a program that reuses.

how can you offer recycling programs for free? |
|
Free Inkjet
Cartridge and Cell Phone Recycling Programs are run two
different ways.
1. Those
that take all makes and models of OEM cartridges.
2. Those
that accept only specific models on a list.
Both programs can
offer free shipping because certain models are in demand to
be remanufactured and have monetary value. The
programs that take all makes and models like ours, are able
to cover expenses and offer a return payment based on the
fact that the remanufactured cartridges/cell phones have
value and in a collection there are usually enough "valued"
cartridges or phones to cover the cost of those that will
generate recycling costs. This is why you'll see some
restrictions like ours where we take Epson's but don't count
them in the 20 minimum. Epson's don't cover their own
cost, so they need to be shipped with other valued
cartridges to cover the cost of taking and recycling them.
Our program takes
all makes and models of OEM cartridges, knowing there will
be 30% that are just cost to the program. We've found
that people recycle more consistently if they don't have to
check lists so your efforts will be more successful and it's
a real reuse/recycling solution.
Cell Phone
programs often only take specific models or will exclude
cords and accessories to keep shipping and recycling costs
down. Our programs takes everything. We don't
take boxes of cords and accessories with no phones.
For both programs
if we get boxes full of Epson's or refilled cartridges or
phone accessories with no phones, we do reserve the right to
stop delivery of any further shipments from that customer.
We think it's important to take "everything" but we need the
boxes to cover costs of shipping to continue to take the
things many programs won't.
